12/17 - Epcot

Home Up 12/17 - Page 2

Wednesday, December 17th, 2025

This morning, after waking up and checking out of the hotel room, we headed over to Disney Springs to do some shopping and to look for Christmas ornaments for Grandma to give to the kids and grandkids. We hit up a few shops before deciding to hit Epcot for the rest of our day. Here are a few pictures from our shopping experience...

Disney Springs

This truck and Christmas tree in the Marketplace Co-Op was like a real life version of the popcorn bucket that we purchased last night!

I recently learned that inside of Disney's Days of Christmas you are walking on the tree skirt, while the ornaments are displayed on the tree stand, and the ceiling is the underside of a Christmas tree! All the times I've walked underneath it, this never once sunk in!

...and another for the movie Encanto.

After leaving Disney Springs, we headed over to Epcot to take in the sights and tastes of the International Festival of the Holidays. But before we did, we were getting hungry. We headed over to the United Kingdom pavilion to grab a bite to eat at my favorite, the Yorkshire County Fish Shop, where Grandma Terry and I each had the Beer-battered Fish and Chips.

After getting lunch, we headed off to the France pavilion to take a turn on Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, our first since it transitioned from a 3-D ride to a 2-D ride. I can't say that I thought it made a huge difference to my enjoyment of the ride one way or another, but it certainly made it easier to take photos of some of the scenes! We caught a break on the wait time too, which made it even more worthwhile!

With one ride under our belt, we decided to hit up a second ride, heading from the World Showcase to the World Celebration to take a spin on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, my all-time favorite roller coaster! Thankfully the wait wasn't too long, and the people in the pre-show rooms weren't too crazy. As we got closer, I was hoping we would get any song but Conga, and to my surprise we got... not Conga! We ended up with Disco Inferno as our soundtrack for today's ride. Did I mention that I love this ride? And, also, cake-toast!

We debated taking a speedy drive on Test Track, but the line increased pretty drastically while we were on Guardians, so we instead opted to head from one side of the World Celebration to the other, this time to stop at the CommuniCore Hall for some of the International Festival of the Holidays cookie offerings from the Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow kitchen. Well, I guess all of the offerings from this particular spot! We sampled the new Prototype Cookie (a sugar cookie with orange-cranberry icing and dark chocolate), the new Ginger-Molasses Cookie (with cream cheese icing), as well as the returning Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie, which is pretty self explanatory. I also got the Gingerbread Milk Shake to try. I will say that I would absolutely not get the Prototype Cookie again. I really found nothing redeeming about it. I liked both of the other cookies as well as the shake, and would order all of them again!

Since we were close, we headed over to World Nature to take a casual ride on The Seas with Nemo & Friends. This is a ride we don't go on often, but it is a nice way to get out of the sun or escape the heat from time to time (neither of which was an issue today, but you get the idea). We also headed across the sidewalk to explore the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana walk-through experience. We didn't participate in a lot of the water activities, choosing to let the kids in the area check them out instead, but we still enjoyed our stroll through, taking in the sights of the attraction.

The rest of our day can be found on page two!

We sampled a few items from the Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow kitchen. Pictured is the Gingerbread Milk Shake, the Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie, the Prototype Cookie, and the Ginger-Molasses Cookie.

A closer look at the Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie, which I would do again.

Here is the disappointing new Prototype Cookie, which is a sugar cookie with orange-cranberry icing and dark chocolate. The pictures used to sell the cookie had the hallmark Spaceship Earth dome design on the chocolate. Ours did not. Its taste was lacking as well.

This is the new Ginger-Molasses Cookie (with cream cheese icing), and it was very good - though I could have used less of the icing.
