| With Jayden busy attending the YMCA Boca Spring Rally 2024 at
the Peter Blum Family YMCA of Boca Raton, Tara and I had the day to
ourselves. We started our day off by driving to Plantation for
breakfast at The Original Pancake House so that Tara could enjoy one
of her favorites, the Apple Pancake! Once breakfast had concluded
we decided to check out a local farmers market - the Yellow Green
Farmers Market in Hollywood. The market was a very cool place to
visit, with somewhere around 300 booths to visit, with lots of fresh
fruit, fresh food, and clothing available to purchase. Because we
had recently eaten breakfast, we weren't hungry and didn't end up
purchasing anything to try. After exploring all of the booths, we
decided to head out to our next adventure.
We decided to head over to Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, the large
outlet mall located across the street from Amerant Bank Arena, home
of the Florida Panthers hockey team, and within walking distance of
the Everglades Wildlife Management Area Conservation Area. Sawgrass
Mills is a gigantic mall, one which Drew and I visited several years
ago when he played hockey in the area and we had some time to kill.
Today Tara & I only visited a small part of the mall, checking out a
small portion of the 350+ stores and restaurants inside.
Unfortunately Tara & I were getting hungry, but mall food wasn't
sounding all that appetizing to us. We decided to find a seafood
place, and settled on Oceans 13 Sports Grill & Bar in Hollywood. We
were seated at a table overlooking the beach, allowing us plenty of
people watching while we ate. We both ordered the fish and chips,
and enjoyed our meal as we watched all manner of people walking,
rollerblading, and biking up and down the sidewalk that ran between
the buildings and the beach, as well as 6 or 7 cruise ships leaving
from Port Everglades just to the north. After eating we took a walk
down the beach ourselves, enjoying the fresh air and sights. |
