Wednesday,
October 9th-Thursday, October 10th, 2024

			| Today was the day that Hurricane Milton made landfall, heading
directly across the state of Florida. We were as prepared as we
could be, with Grandpa Gary & Grandma Terry hunkered down with
			Samantha, Jayden, and I. |

Baloo (and the other dogs) weren't thrilled by the noise caused
			by the storm.

Rodney slept on the couch for the night, while Samantha and
Jayden slept on mattresses in the living room. Koda joined Rod on
			the couch.

			| Thankfully the storm wasn't as bad for us as it could have been.
We lost electricity fairly early, but aside from a few leaning fence
panels we survived unharmed. A sigh of relief was had by all! |

A look at the leaning fence in our back yard, along with a ton

Our front yard was mainly just covered in leaves and twigs, like
			the back.

The neighbors fence didn't survive well.

The neighborhood behind ours has some flooding at the end of the
			road...

...and the ponds across the main road were definitely much

The end of our street had some flooding as well. Thankfully
			nothing higher than curb level.

A house down the street lost a pretty large limb. It didn't
appear to hit the house or their car, so a bit of a break in their
			favor.

While heading out in search of gas for the generator, I saw this
non-functional streetlight hanging very low. Thankfully we were able
			to pass underneath successfully.

After driving nearly 80 miles to the north to find a station
with gas, we came across this sight on our way back home... yes,
that is a parrot in a cage in the back of a truck doing 70+ miles
per hour on I-75! Welcome to Florida, or "WTF"!
