| Jayden and her Tampa Dynamo teammates took to the field to take
on one of two Florida Premier FC teams in their bracket in game one
of the Tampa Bay Super Cup. The first half of the game saw the
action go back and forth, though it was the Premier team that
dominated in shots on goal. The Dynamo girls played well despite
their lack of shots. The thirty minute half flew by quickly, coming
to a close before we knew it.
Half number two saw a continued back and forth, though it was
once again the Premier squad leading in shots on goal. It was
beginning to look like the game would end in a scoreless draw, but
the Florida team broke through when the fired a corner kick into the
box area and the Dynamo were unable to clear it from their zone, and
the ball ended up getting kicked back and forth before finally
finding the back of the net, making it a 1-0 game. Moments later a
Premier player took a pass that led them behind the Dynamo defense,
and they were able to kick the ball up and over the Tampa keeper,
making it a 2-0 game. Thankfully the Dynamo girls didn't give up.
They mounted their best offensive attack of the day, and a Dynamo
player took control of the ball, held off a Dynamo defender on her
hip, and fired a shot up and over the challenging goalkeeper. That
goal made it a 2-1 score, but unfortunately time would expire before
they could manage the tying goal, handing them a loss in the first
game of the tournament. Better luck tomorrow ladies! |
