Game 7

Another game, another rematch. This time at the Plant City FC, who came to Riverview and dominated Jayden and her Tampa Dynamo team by a 9-3 score, and the girls were hoping for a more favorable outcome today. Unfortunately, it was all Plant City for the majority of the opening half. The very first shot of the game clanged off the post, just missing making it a 1-0 deficit early. They followed it up with plenty more shots on goal, finally scoring on their fifth just before the water break. There was a battle for the ball in front of the net and the defenseman fell down, and once the goalkeeper came out to play the ball the result was an easy goal to make it an actual 1-0 lead. Coming out of the break the Plant City side continued their attack, ripping off five more shots before a Dynamo player tried to clear the last shot down the middle of the field in front of the net, resulting in a turnover and another easy shot in, giving the Plant City girls a 2-0 lead. The Dynamo finally managed a couple of shots on goal before halftime, two of the three coming of of Jay's foot. Unfortunately, none of those shots were able to find the net and the half came to a close with the Dynamo still down 2-0.

The second half did not get off to a good start for the Tampa girls, as the first shot on net resulted in a big rebound that was able to be kicked back into the net off of the foot of a Plant City player, making the score 3-0. The Dynamo girls didn't give up, and Jayden followed up the strong end to their first half with her third shot on goal of the game shortly after, although it was unsuccessful. The two teams trading scoring chances before Jay once again attacked, this time thanks to a pass that led Jay right to the front of the net, and she was able to boot a long kick past the charging Plant City keeper, narrowing their deficit to 3-1 in the process. That goal would lead the two teams into their water break, and Plant City dominated the remainder of the game. They would score their fourth goal of the game following a corner kick that resulted in another rebound being left out front, which was kicked into the net once more. The final goal came by outracing a tired Dynamo defense for an easy kick into the net, making the score 5-1. Not the outcome the Dynamo players and fans wanted, but it was an improvement over their last meeting.
