| The most recent version of Walt Disney World Passholder magnet
was set to become unavailable on February 20th, but that is a
blackout weekend for us, so we decided to squeeze in a quick trip
today so that Jayden, Drew, and I could get our magnets. Drew
decided that we should also take Uncle Steven, so we picked him up
on Saturday night and brought him back to our house. I set my
alarm for a little before 7:00am on Sunday morning in an attempt to
get into the virtual queue for the Guardians of the Galaxy:
Cosmic Rewind ride. Luckily, I had success, getting in group 12
with a 10:30am return time ETA. I woke up the kids and Steve so that
we could all get ready to head out. We had an unbelievably smooth
drive over to the park, and we made it just a little after 9am! We
even got the very first handicapped parking spot - as close to the
entrance as possible! Definitely a first for us!
Since Steve got a wheelchair for Christmas we were able to avoid
getting in line for a rental, though we did still stop at guest
services to verify that Steve's Disability Access Service (DAS) pass
was still active. Once we confirmed that it was, we made a
reservation for Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and headed over
to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Jayden recently
watched the first movie with me, and not a lot of scenes from the
ride made a lot more sense to her. The ride is truly enjoyable
without any knowledge of the movies, but the little jokes make a lot
more sense if you are familiar with them. If only there was a way to
ride it more than once in a day without having to pay for the
			Lightning Lane.
With the world saved, we headed across to the World Showcase, and
France in particular. It was our turn to enjoy the Remy's
Ratatouille Adventure ride. While I truly do enjoy this ride,
and the movie it is based on, I do wish there was some randomness to
the ride, just to eliminate the sameness from each visit. After our
trip through the kitchen was complete, we made another DAS pass,
this time for Soarin' Around The World. With some time to
kill, we decided to grab some popcorn to snack on and take a trip on
the Journey Into Imagination With Figment ride. This is much
easier to do when Tara isn't with us!
We then headed over to the World Nature building to take our turn
on Soarin' Around The World. Aside from the curviness of the
Eiffel Tower, we love the sights and smells that this ride provides.
While we were in the building, we also took a turn on the Living
with the Land ride as it provides a good opportunity to get off
our feet for a while as well enjoy the variety of plants that are
grown on site. We had made a third DAS pass for Test Track
after riding on Soarin' Around The World, but it got
cancelled as the ride went down. We decided that we didn't want to
wait around for another ride, as we were beginning to get hungry and
couldn't agree on what to eat in the park (and I didn't get to the
store to buy stuff to pack a lunch).
We headed off to the Creation shop to puck up our Passholder
magnets and to see if there were any must-haves in the shop (there
really wasn't this time). With our magnets in hand we headed next
door to Club Cool to taste a variety of Coca-Cola products from
around the world (spoiler alert - almost all of them are pretty
gross!). We did do one final ride, this one on the monorail that
runs from the Transportation and Ticket Center and back to Epcot. We
really wanted to get a good look at the construction on the upcoming
Journey of Water - Inspired by Moana walkthrough attraction,
and the monorail is the best way to do so.
Once we finished our trip on the monorail we headed out to our
closely parked car. We did make one last stop on the way home for
dinner, at Chili's in Champions Gate, continuing our dining routine!
We enjoyed our meal, but once again the service left a little to be
desired - how hard is it to get refills?!? Regardless, it was a
great day spent together with family. Until next time! |
