Game 3

Jayden and her Tampa Dynamo teammates travelled to Lithia to take on some of her former Florida Hawks teammates. Things got off to a great start for the Dynamo girls, as Jayden was able to take a nice cross pass from a teammate and kick the ball cleanly into the back of the net to take an early 1-0 lead! It was great for Jay to get on the board to help boost her confidence, as she has been playing positions other than her usual defense much more this year, both for this squad as well as her high school team. That early momentum stalled a bit, as the pace slowed until the first half water break. Coming out of the break, the Dynamo went on the attack. They would score on their first shot of the half after Jay made a nice pass ahead to an attacking teammate who was able to dribble through the Hawks defense and fir a shot up and over the goalkeeper, making it a 2-0 game. The Dynamo team would get several more shots on goal, but they were unable to find the back of the net before the halftime whistle.

The Dynamo girls kept attacking to start the second half, and scored goals on two of their three shots before the water break. The game's third goal came when the Hawks keeper came out to challenge for the ball, but lost it in a scramble and the Dynamo were able to knock it in for a 3-0 lead. The next goal came on a long shot that found it's way behind the keeper to make it a 4-0 game. Coming out of the water break, the Hawks scored their first (and only) goal on a long shot on a play that I believed to be offsides. No matter, as it wasn't called, and the score was now 4-1 in favor of the Dynamo. The final goal came off of a Dynamo players foot, on a long, high shot that once again made it to the back of the net. The game would come to a close with the Tampa Dynamo on top by a 5-1 score, giving them their first win of the season. Way to go girls!
