Game 8

Jayden and her Riverview Lady Sharks teammates returned home to take on the Brandon Eagles in tonight's contest. Despite giving up the first shot on goal, it was the Sharks who controlled the action early. Although the first water break came and the game remained scoreless, it was the Sharks who broke the tie coming out of the break. A shot took a weird deflection into the top right corner of the net, making it a 1-0 game in favor of the Sharks. The Eagles got some good looks after that goal, but they weren't able to convert. The final shot of the half came off of a Riverview foot, but it deflected off the crossbar, so the half came to an end with Riverview leading 1-0.

Jay started the second half on the bench, but her teammates were taking care of business early. A little over six minutes in they found the back of the net once again, this time on a long kick that sailed over the outstretched arms of the Brandon keeper. That goal made it a 2-0 game. Not even 90 seconds later they would add to their lead, thanks to a cross-field shot that found the back of the net from a sharp angle. Jay returned to the game shortly thereafter, and helped keep the Eagles off the scoreboard. Despite there being a long ways to go, that would be it for the scoring, as the Sharks would hold on for the 3-0 victory. Great game girls!
