Game 5

Jayden and her Riverview Lady Sharks teammates travelled to Valrico tonight to take on the Bloomingdale Bulls. Although Jay didn't get the start tonight, she watched as her team controlled the action early and got on the scoreboard first. Around eight minutes in a Sharks shot was bobbled by the Bulls goalkeeper, and the ensuing rebound was kicked into the back of the net for an early 1-0 lead. Although they wouldn't score again before the first water break, the Sharks dominated possession of the ball and managed the games first six shots. Jay checked into the game at the water break, and saw her team continue to attack. The Sharks would score again, this time on a play where the Riverview forward raced past the defense, beating the challenging keeper to the ball and tipping it into the net to make it a 2-0 game. Unfortunately the Bulls would close the gap before halftime, as they were able to make a long run and kick the ball past what appeared to be a disinterested Sharks keeper, making it a 2-1 score heading into the half.

Like the first half, Jay started the second half on the bench. Although the shots were fairly even through the second half, it was the Sharks who once again got on the board first, on a long kick from outside the box that sailed to the right of the Bulls keeper and into the net, giving Riverview back their two goal lead and making the score 3-1. Jay would come in again after the water break, and even got a shot on goal during her time on the field. There would be no additional scoring this game, so the store would end with the Sharks winning by the 3-1 score. Way to go girls!
