| Both Grandma Terry and I had the day off from work today, so we
figured that it would be a good time to take Steven to Walt Disney
World once again. Today's destination was Epcot, where the new
Passholder magnet giveaway was taking place. I woke up bright and
early this morning to try to get in the virtual queue for the Guardians of
the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride, which I successfully managed to
do - for group #3! That meant that we needed to get hustling to make
the drive from home to Epcot in order to make our time slot. Of
course we had to stop for gas before we got on the expressway, and
at the I4 rest area before we finally arrived at Epcot. We made
our way through the security line, entering the park through the
dedicated Passholder entrance, and then over to the wheelchair
rental spot to grab Steve's luxury ride for the day before we
finally made our way over to the Guardians of
the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride in World Discovery. Although we
were technically beyond our return time, we were allowed to board
the ride anyway. The three of us really enjoyed our spin on the ride
			- literally!
Our next stop was at the restrooms before heading to the Get
Experience Team umbrella to get the three of us listed on Steve's
Disability Access Service (DAS) pass so that we could make our first
reservation, on Soarin' Around the World. Thankfully we
didn't have long to wait before our turn arrived, and as we made our
way from one side of the park to the other through the upcoming Journey of Water -
Inspired by Moana walkthrough attraction construction we also
stopped at a popcorn stand to pick up a new Mickey Mouse mummy
popcorn bucket. We finally arrived in The Land building, where we
completed our ride around the world before heading over to take a
quick, relaxing spin on the Living with
the Land ride while we were so close.
After completing the two rides inside The Land building, we
decided to grab a bite to eat. We placed a mobile order for fish
dinners at Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom
pavilion. Each of us got a drink to go along with our large piece of
fish and fries. I somehow managed to get two pieces of fish; perhaps
the young lady working the counter had a thing for me - Ha!
After lunch we headed over to the France pavilion to take a run
through Gusteau's kitchen as we rode the Remy's Ratatouille Adventure
ride, utilizing another DAS pass. While we were in the World
Showcase, we decided to make our way around to Norway for a spin on
a ride we don't get to enjoy very often thanks to it's long wait
times, Frozen Ever After. Although I do enjoy the ride as it
is, I do miss the previous non-Frozen incarnation of it as well. Oh
			well, time marches on!
It was at this point that we decided to more or less call it a
day. The sky was beginning to darken as rain approached, so we made
our way to the front of the park. We wanted to hop on the monorail
for a round trip back to Epcot so that we could see the progress
being made on the Journey of Water -
Inspired by Moana walkthrough attraction from up above, so we
made that our last "ride" of the day.
From the monorail we headed back to the car and made the trip
home. We skipped Chili's today, opting instead to head all the way
back to pick up Jayden before heading out to eat. We settled in at
Bubba's 33, where Drew is currently working. He was even able to
join us at the end of his shift! All in all, not a bad day, and not
a bad way to end the day! Looking forward to our next opportunity to
head back to Walt Disney World! |
