| Both Grandma Terry and I had the day off from work today, so we
figured that it would be a good time to take Steven to Walt Disney
World once again. Our first stop today was at Disney Springs, so
that I could head to Gideon's Bakehouse to pick up the latest cookie
of the month for Tara, as well as regular chocolate chip for Jayden.
While I was in line for the cookies, Grandma Terry and Steven made
their way through the World of Disney shop. I made a quick pitstop
at Wondermade to get some churro marshmallows for Drew before
meeting up with them at The LEGO Store. With no budget for Lego's
today, it was time to head off to Disney's Hollywood Studios for our
day of fun! We made it to Disney's Hollywood Studios and parked
before making our way through security, and then headed in to rent a
wheelchair for Steve. We also made our first Disability Access
Service (DAS) pass of the day, this one for the Star Wars: Rise
of the Resistance ride. Grandma Terry was hungry at this point,
as she hadn't had breakfast today. We checked out our options at
Hollywood & Vine, the 50's Prime Time Café,
and the ABC Commissary before settling on the Backlot Express for
our lunch. I had the bacon cheeseburger, while Steve had the chicken
tenders and Grandma Terry got the teriyaki chicken bowl.
While we waited our turn to utilize our DAS pass, we hit up a
couple of rides to kill some time. Up first was Star Tours - The
Adventure Continues, which I always find enjoyable. We also
passed by the Muppet*Vision 3D show on our way to Star Wars:
Galaxy's Edge, so we decided to give it a watch. Although the movie
could probably stand to be updated a bit by now, it is still a
relaxing way to kill some time and get some laughs!
It was finally out turn to hit up Star Wars: Rise of the
Resistance, so we headed off to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to join
the queue. Once again, we enjoyed our ride, and Steve only got
"excited" on one occasion (the scene where our ride vehicle
dropped). After our ride was over, we immediately booked a return
time for Toy Story Mania! While waiting our turn, we explored
the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. We were tempted to try the Kyryll
pork rinds from Ronto Roasters, but we were still feeling full from
lunch so we ended up passing for today.
We made our way to Toy Story Land for our turn on Toy Story Mania!
This is definately the better of the two shooting style Toy Story
rides (the other being Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
ride at Disney's Magic Kingdom), and I would choose to ride this one
10 times over the Buzz Lightyear verision. We made a reservation for
the Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway ride.
We had a little bit of time to kill before it was our turn to
return to the Chinese theatre for our DAS pass, so we decided to
grab a spot to sit and grab a drink (and a small snack). We got to
see Chip & Dale as we searched for a spot to rest, which was
something cool to see. After we relaxed for a bit, it was off to
enjoy our ride on the railroad! This is definitely one of Grandma
Terry's favorite rides at Hollywood Studios!
I made one last DAS pass for today, this one for just Steve and I
for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. While we had some time
to kill, headed over to see For the First Time in Forever: A
Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. Although Tyler, Samantha, Drew,
and Jayden are all too old to really get into this show, it is
touching to watch all of the little one's get into the songs as they
			sing along.
We decided to make The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror our
final ride of the day, and both Steve and I had a blast on it.
Definitely a favorite at this park!
Once again we made one other stop on our way home, at the Chili's
in Champions Gate, for dinner. We enjoyed our meal and it was a
fitting (and filling) end to a great day. Until next time! |
