| I wasn't able to attend tonight's game between the Riverview Ice
Sharks and the Bloomingdale Bulls due to work, and as such I do not
have a lot to report on for this particular contest. Here is what
I do know... the first period was pretty uneventful when it comes to
scoring, as neither team was able to find the back of the net. Drew
would take the only penalty of the period, getting called for
roughing on a whistle that he didn't agree with.
The second period was all Ice Sharks, as they scored with just
over six minutes played, making it a 1-0 game. Barely over a minute
later the Riverview team would score again, widening their lead to
2-0. The refs were tripping whistle happy in this period, calling
two on Bloomingdale and one on Riverview - Drew again, with less
than a minute to play in the period.
The third period was more back and forth. Riverview managed to
kill off the rest of Drew's tripping minor early on. It took just
over 10 minutes of action, but the Ice Sharks finally got back on
the board, as Drew scored his first goal of the season, which helped
make up for his earlier penalties and made it a 3-0 game. 80 seconds
after Drew's goal the Bulls finally broke the ice, so to speak,
scoring their lone goal of the game to make it a 3-1 score.
Riverview scored the game's final goal with just 25 seconds left to
play, making the final score 4-1 and moving them to 3-0 on the
season. Way to go Ice Sharks! |
