Winter Scrimmage 6

Drew and his Novi FireCats took on the Northstars from Midland in today's contest. The FireCats got off to a slow start, as they took three penalties early, the last of which led to a Midland power play goal. Despite falling behind, the FireCats fought back to tie things up at 1-1 thanks to a nifty pass from behind the goal. It was Midland who would come back to take the lead before the period ended, scoring just past the five minute mark.

It seemed at this point that the FireCats called it a game, as the Midland squad would take over. Three goals in a minute opened the game up, giving the Northstars a 5-1 lead heading into the third.

The final period was very similar to the second, with Midland scoring a quick goal to expand the lead even further. The Northstars would net their seventh goal of the game midway through the period, this time when the teams were battling 4 on 4. The final Midland goal came with just 1 second left on the clock, icing the game with an 8-1 victory.
