| As Drew and his Novi FireCats teammates travelled to Ann Arbor
to take on the Wolverines, nobody knew what kind of a wacky game
they were in for. The FireCats and Wolverines would trade goals
and take turns holding the lead throughout the entire first period,
but it wouldn't really matter on the scoreboard as the frame ended
in a 4-4 tie when the final horn sounded. It was Ann Arbor who
scored first, less than 15 seconds into the game. Novi would march
right back down the ice to know the game up at a goal apiece before
the game was even 30 seconds old. It would take 7 minutes before the
next goal was scored, but the Wolverines regained the lead on a
backhand that gave them a 2-1 margin. The Novi players couldn't
stand for that, and some tic-tac-toe passing gave them their second
goal of the game along with a tie score. A couple minutes later, and
the FireCats scored two more quick goals to grab a 4-2 lead and the
momentum. Unfortunately that momentum didn't last very long, as the
Wolverines were able to score a power play goals a couple minutes
later, and then tied the game up at 4 less than a minute later. That
would be it for the first period.
Thankfully for the FireCats, they would take control in the
second period, with two power play goals sandwiching a third goal.
The first goal was the result of some quality passing, while the
last two were soft long distance goals. Either way, a goal is a goal
			and we will take it!
The third period was a bit of a snoozer, as neither team was able
to score. When the final buzzer sounded, it was the FireCats who
came out on top with a 7-4 victory! |
