Samantha got a surprise start in tonight's contest versus the Palmetto Ridge Bears, and she rewarded the coaches with some strong play in the field. The Indians got off to a fast start pressuring the Palmetto defenders, and it paid off with an early penalty kick, which the girls converted to take a 1-0 lead. The girls would go on to score three more goals before the water break, and Sam earned an assist on each of them. She would watch her team from the bench as they returned from the break, and as they tacked on two more goals before halftime, which would come with Venice up 6-0.

Sam got the start again in the second half, and the Indians would quickly score two goals on just three shots, ending the game early with an 8-0 mercy. Of the 8 goals, Sam had an assist on 5 of them, and a "hockey assist" (the second pass before the goal) on another. And just to demonstrate on thorough of a blowout this was, the Indians outshot the Ridge Bears 20-1 over the course of the game. Way to go Indians!
