Game 2

Samantha and her Liverpool teammates played their makeup game tonight, taking on the Michigan Hawks. This makeup game didn't go off without some confusion, as the Hawks team that the girls were supposed to play didn't show up, so the girls played against an older, higher level Hawks team. That was a good challenge for the girls, as they battled back and forth for most of the first half. They weren't able to keep up for the entire half, however, as the Hawks would score two goals late, forcing the Liverpool girls to go into halftime down 2-0.

An early penalty kick for the Hawks made it a 3-0 deficit for the Liverpool girls, and at that point they decided to switch up the lineups. The starting keeper tonight, a senior playing her final game for the club, moved to the field. Sam would end up in net, and played well despite a lack of reps in practice. She did give on three goals in the half, but there really was little she could have done to stop the rocket shots she was facing. She managed several nice save, though, and thankfully the outcome didn't sway based on her play in goal.
