Game 8

Tonight Drew and his Novi FireCats teammates took on the Rochester Rattlers Black team on the Novi ice. For a majority of the first period, it looked like the goaltending was going to keep this a scoreless game. Both teams were getting some good looks, but they weren't able to sneak one past the goalies. Thankfully, it was the FireCats who broke through first, scoring the games first goal with a little over two and half minutes remaining in the period. The lead was short-lived, however, as the Rattlers marched down the ice in a 3 on 1 situation, and converted to tie things up just 11 seconds after the FireCats goal. That would be it for the remainder of the first period, as the two teams would head into the second period tied at 1 goal each.

The middle period would be a repeat of the first, with the only difference being that neither team would score.

Heading in to the final period tied, it was once again the FireCats who got on the board first. This time an early goal gave them a 2-1 lead, which they managed to hold on to for a bit longer this time around. Unfortunately, they couldn't keep the Rattlers off the board the entire period, as they walked through the FireCats players to score the tying goal with just under four minutes to play. That would be the score when the final whistle would blow, giving the FireCats another tie.
