Game 2

Today's game against the USA Eagles got off to a bit of a slow start for the Novi FireCats, as they struggled on offense early. The Eagles were on full attack mode, though, and they managed to score the opening goal of the contest. This lone goal would be all of the offense that would be generated in the first period.

Both teams traded chances in the second period, as the FireCats awoke from their first period doldrums. Neither team was able to score, however, as the game remained 1-0 in favor of the Eagles heading into the third.

The USA team scored once again early in the final period, with a goal that appeared to seal the victory for them. The FireCats weren't deterred, though, and they kept fighting and attacking. They managed to draw within a single goal just 12 seconds after the Eagles scored, giving the FireCats a bit of a momentum boost. Time kept winding down on them, though, before they finally broke through with a game-tying goal with two and a half minutes left. Despite both teams best efforts, neither of them could put the puck in the net again before the final buzzer sounded, ending the game in a 2-2 tie.
