Drew and his Lapeer Storm teammates took to the ice
tonight for their first of three games this weekend, this one against the Royal
Oak Eagles. The two teams played the first period in back and forth fashion,
with each team getting scoring chances. The Eagles took advantage of their
first, when a defensive lapse left two Eagles players alone against the Storm
goalie, grabbing a 1-0 lead moments in. The Storm didn't give up, doing their
best to tie things up. They managed to as time was winding down on the period,
when a sweet pass made it's way through the crease to Drew's stick and he was
able to convert the shot for a goal to even things up at 1-1 heading into the
second. It looked as though the two teams were going to make it through this
period scoreless until the Eagles found the back of the goal late to grab a 2-1
lead. The Storm offense stayed quite in the third, and the Eagles continued
their assault on the Storm goalie, scoring twice more before the game wound
down. The final score was a 4-1, with the Storm on the wrong end of it.
