Game 1

Drew and his Lapeer Storm teammates took to the ice this afternoon to face a team from Ohio, the Gilmour Gladiators. The Storm team didn't get off to the start that they wanted, giving up a goal less than three minutes into the game. The players settled down from there, scoring the tying goal about a minute later. Most of the first quarter was played pretty evenly, but the tie was broken with slightly more than three minutes remaining as the Storm team scored once again, grabbing a 2-1 lead, which they carried into the first intermission. The second period was pretty even for the first half, but then the Gladiators came to life. They found the back of the net twice in a minute of game time, and then once again with less than a minute remaining in the period to grab a 4-2 lead. The third period was played evenly once again, as neither team was willing to give up. The Storm narrowed the gap to 4-3 halfway through, but that was as close as they would get for the rest of the contest.
