January 7th, 2016
Playing their last game at home, the Venice Indians took
on the girls from Riverview. Combine the knee injury that Samantha had on
Tuesday with the fact that it was senior night for Venice, I didn't anticipate
Sam would be on the field much. Well, in Sam-like fashion, her knee was fine and
she took the field in the first half. Within minutes of the opening whistle,
Riverview scored their first goal. Venice did not appear as if they had come to
play today and struggled with the many player changes that were being made in
order to give their seniors as much playing time as possible. Sam did play well
and managed to out dribble her opponent. In the second half, Venice began to
give up and allowed Riverview to score three more goals on them. With a final
score of 4-0, Venice ended the season with a 7-2-0 record in their group. Next
week we begin district playoff's and will face North Port, on their field.
