Drew's baseball team continued their hot streak with the
bats tonight, pounding out the hits inning after inning. Despite playing only
four innings tonight, Drew got to the plate four times today, gathering a
single, two walks, and a strikeout. His team jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in
the first half of the first inning, scoring the maximum number of runs allowed
per inning. They gave up two in the first, but came back out swinging in the
second, scoring five more runs. Once again the Cardinals scored a pair, but the
Dodgers weren't done, score three runs in both the third and fourth innings. At
that point the score was out of reach at 16-4, but the Cardinals got the last
at-bats today. They pushed across three more runs, but with the lead so big they
had no chance at completing the comeback. The final score tonight was a big 16-7
win for the Dodgers, keeping them near the top of the standings.
