June 18th, 2015
I have to start off by saying that thankfully no one was
hurt. On the morning of Thursday, June 18th, Tara was involved in an accident
that wound up with our pickup being totaled. She came away with a very swollen
and sore ankle, a sore collarbone, and some major bruising, but nothing that
won't heal. Although we really liked the truck, the truth is that it can be
replaced. Tara, however, can never be replaced, and our entire family is
grateful that she is safe.
The rear of the truck looks OK, but the front end
sustained heavy damage. The drivers side front tire was flattened, both airbags
deployed, the passenger mirror broke off, the windshield broke (amazingly no
other glass broke), and on and on. All four doors would open, but strangly the
rear seat was stuck up at a 45 degree angle. I tried to lay it flat or fold it
up, and it wouldn't budge. The seatbelts were locked in place and wouldn't free
up. With this amount of damage, I wouldn't have wanted the truck back anyway...

A look at the rear of the truck doesn't reveal much damage
(maybe a slight lean to the drivers side thanks to a flat front
			tire).

Things are still looking sort-of OK from this angle.

A quick peek inside reveals two exploded airbags and lots of

Tara's cell phone ended up wrapped up inside of the passenger
airbag somehow. That explains why nobody could find it at the scene
			of the accident.

The hood is quite crumpled, while the mirror and bumper are just

Looking straight on gives a better view of the damage. The
splatter all over the truck is either paint or drywall mud.
