Game 1

Samantha joined a combination of girls to play in the Orange Classic Invitational Girls soccer tournament. They were playing in the U19 Showcase I level, meaning this was a college showcase tournament. Unfortunately for the Venice Falcons girls, their first game was against a Wellington Wave team made up of college age girls who were using this tournament as a warm-up for the Florida State Cup tournament. The Venice girls made a game of it in the first half, giving it their all. They weren't able to mount much of an offensive attack, and went into halftime trailing 2-0. Things fell apart quickly after half, as the Wellington girls scored two quick goals that seemed to sap the energy from the Venice girls. They eventually found their footing, playing evenly for most of the remaining time. A breakaway goal by Wellington ended the scoring, with the game closing as a 5-0 loss for the Falcons.
