We went back upstairs to our room to
change out of our wet suits. Tara & I decided that we should run to Meijer
to pick up a few items to eat for breakfast while we were here, as well as
some other odds and ends that we would need over the course of the weekend.
While we were out, the kids hung out in the room, watching TV and playing on
their iPods. Mainly playing on their iPods. Oh, and the laptop. Since we had
such an early dinner today, Tara & I stopped by the McDonalds for visit #3
today. This time we treated the kids (and me) to some shakes, while Tara
	opted for a nice sundae.
When we returned to the hotel we found
Tyler asleep in his bunk. The other kids were getting along nicely, and were
quiet to boot! We woke Tyler up to give him his shake, and we all took a
moment to relax while we enjoyed our ice cream treats.
Once we finished our snack, we headed up
one set of stairs to find Jeff & Becky’s room. They were almost right above,
but not quite. They had a different style room, known as the Family Suite.
This consisted of two queen beds and a pull out sofa, along with a split
bath and the kitchenette area similar to ours. This was the room that we
intended on booking originally, but there was none available when we called,
and as it turns out the room we got wound up be cheaper for us in the long
run (with the Family Suite we would have had to pay for two additional water
park passes, pushing the cost beyond what we paid for the KidCabin). We hung
out in Jeff & Becky’s room for quite a while, and were occasionally joined
by another set of hockey parents, Chris & Nichole. They ducked in and out
from time to time in an effort to keep an eye on their kids. We were lucky
enough not to have to do so, as our kids hung out here too except for the
occasional quick trip back to the room.
Sam ended up taking Drew and Jay back to
the room first, as they were beginning to tire. When midnight rolled around
Tara brought up the fact that it was now my birthday – a fact that I could
have let slide for the weekend! Everyone wished me a happy birthday, but by
that time my newfound old age was catching up to me so we decided that we
better call it a night. Drew had the first games tomorrow out of the three
families in the room, so we also had to be up first.
We headed back to our room to find Drew
and Jay sound asleep. The rest of us climbed into bed as well, before
finally shutting the lights off around 1:00am. A long but enjoyable day!
