Tahquamenon Falls

On our way back to the campground from Tahquamenon Falls we decided to stop at the Whitefish Point Picnic Area. We weren't really sure what this area was, but it was crowded so we figured it must be worth checking out, right? Turns out it was, as the water level here is very shallow, and you can wade out 1,000 feet or more into Lake Superior and still not have the water be over your waist. I am not sure if this is due to the low water levels in the great lakes or not, but that didn't appear to be the case here (of course, I'm no expert - despite my desire to be the expert of some obscure factoid). Anyway, we waded out into the water for a while and let the kids splash around before it was time to head back to the KOA for dinner.
