Our weekend started off Saturday morning getting ready to
make the 2 hour drive north to Jim & Renee's house for the Morris Reunion. Many
years ago this took place at the Gough family cottage, which was located right
on the shore of Lake Huron inside Forester Park. Since the cottage was sold, the
dates and locations have changed, but for the past several year's Jim & Renee
have been kind enough to host us at their home. The kids typically love this
reunion because of the swimming pool, complete with a slide! Unfortunately this
year the weather was a tad chilly, with a reported high of 69° (and it never
felt that warm, thanks to the intermittent rain and mist coming down throughout
the day). Drew toughed out the pool the longest, which was a tad surprising
considering it is usually Samantha and Tyler who are the "fish" of our family.
Drew did really well in the pool today - he was even swimming with his head
underwater by the end of the day today, with no assistance from any kind of
flotation devices aside from some goggles that only covered his eyes. Great job
Drew!

On our way heading to Forester Park from the reunion we
spotted several freighters on Lake Huron. They were much closer to shore than
they usually are, probably due to the storms that had been hitting the area. I
know that their was no electricity in Port Sanilac all the way north to at least
Forester Park. Thankfully it was back on by the time we got there...

After darkness settled in for the night, we put off one of
those lantern thing-a-ma-jigs... Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest - I
haven't really figured out all of the settings for quality night photos yet.
