Well, we were really hoping to pull out a win in our final
game of the year, but it just wasn't meant to be. I don't know what it is about
this team, but we just never seemed to have the focus and desire in the first
half of the game that we did in the second half. The kids did well in the final
two quarters of the year, shutting them out on defense and getting the only
touchdown of the half. Unfortunately it was too little too late. Tyler made some
nice tackles during the game - one a possible touchdown saving tackle on a
kickoff and at least one really nice one while playing cornerback on defense.
This team played hard all year, no matter what the score was.
Unfortunately we had a lot of inexperienced kids and a lot of younger kids on
the team, so that put us at a small disadvantage. Ultimately the kids didn't
always let their natural ability take over, instead outthinking themselves into
making the wrong move. What really matters however is that they had fun and
enjoyed themselves. They were all a nice group of kids that you would want to
have as friends for your own children.
Just a remind, Tyler is #53 this season. I am also an
assistant coach, so thank Tara for the pictures (she was busy with "Team Mom"
responsibilities for most of today's game, so sorry for the lack of pictures)!

The unfortunate final, a 12-26. |
I recently realized that I didn't get any pictures of Tyler
and myself together during this long season in our game day attire. We corrected
that fact after the game today.
